The VET Center in the area of "Automobile Maintenance and Auto Service" includes:
- Theoretical Training Study;
- Electronic Systems Laboratory;
- Diagnostics Laboratory;
- Fuel Equipment Laboratory;
- Electric Vehicle Laboratory;
- Auto Body Repair Laboratory.
Training in the VET center for each course is conducted in several stages:
At the first stage, the student acquires the necessary theoretical knowledge on the course theme in the Theoretical Training study. Students learn the handout, the instructor explains the theoretical notions, demonstrating photo and video materials.
At the second stage, students move to the Electronic Systems laboratory, where they perform a number of laboratory work. At this stage, students learn to work with real diagnostic tools and real electronic systems of the car. Upon completion of the third stage, students can independently diagnose cars in a service station.
At the third stage, students move to the diagnostics laboratory, where they independently diagnose electronic systems of real cars and engines, there by consolidating the theoretical knowledge and practical skills previously acquired.
Theoretical Training Study
The study provides:
- 16 student workplaces;
- an instructor's workplace equipped with an interactive whiteboard;
- educational and visual aids in the form of real modern car units with sections;
- training stands for the study of the structure and troubleshooting of electronic systems of cars.
The training stands can be connected to an interactive whiteboard to demonstrate the modes of operation of electronic systems, the steps of diagnostics, and the study of diagnostic software.
Theoretical Training Study Equipment Laboratories
Electronic Systems Laboratory
The laboratory provides:
- 16 student workplaces equipped with laptops with Electude software and ExtLab installations;
- a teacher's workplace equipped with an interactive whiteboard;
- educational and visual aids in the form of real modern car units with sections and stands of car systems.
The use of the Electude software and ExtLab installations allows students to study the components of electronic systems, their principle of operation, to form initial skills in finding their faults.
Electronic Systems Laboratory Equipment
Diagnostics Laboratory
The laboratory provides:
- operating diesel engine with Common Rail Fuel Supply system;
- passenger car with a built-in fault simulator;
- chassis of a passenger car with an operating petrol engine with multipoint injection;
- Bosch FSA 760 motor-tester;
- Bosch KTS 540 diagnostic scanner;
- educational and visual aids in the form of real modern car components with sections.
The available equipment and diagnostic facilities allow the instructor to enter faults into the electronic systems of the car, and students to troubleshoot them with the help of modern diagnostic equipment used by service stations.
Diagnostics Laboratory Equipment
Fuel Equipment Laboratory
The Fuel Equipment Laboratory provides:
- stand for diagnostics of injectors (mechanical and Common Rail) Bosch EPS 200;
- stand for diagnostics of fuel injection pumps and injectors Bosch EPS 708;
- equipment for the repair of Common Rail injectors according to the Bosch STEP 3 manufacturer technology.
In this laboratory, students study real professional equipment for diagnostics and repair of diesel fuel equipment components.
Fuel Equipment Laboratory Equipment
Electric Vehicle Laboratory
The laboratory is fitted with the following equipment:
- UniTrain Lucas Nuelle installations;
- stands: "Electric vehicle power plant", "High-voltage battery cooling system", "High-voltage battery";
- electric car Nissan Leaf.
The learning process is based on the principle of "from simple to complex". At the initial stage, students study the structure of an electric vehicle and its systems using UniTrain training units and LabSoft software.
The next stage of training is working with stands. The stands are made on real components of electric vehicles, and have the ability to introduce malfunctions. When working with stands, students form the initial skills of safe work with the high-voltage system of an electric vehicle, its maintenance and repair. At the final stage of training, it is planned to work with a real electric car Nissan Leaf.
Electric Vehicle Laboratory Equipment
Auto Body Repair Laboratory
The laboratory is equipped with Car-O-Liner Measuring Slide, which provides measuring the geometry of the car body, as well as performing bodywork after an accident.
There are also spotters and welding equipment that allow performing correction and replacing body elements.
Such kind of laboratory equipment is usually used by professional service stations for auto body repairs.
